Last summer we had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Steven and Melody at The Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. The couple’s love of clean lines and contemporary simplicity really came through in this modern yet elegant affair. Monochromatic hues of white and creams complimented beautiful orchid arrangements, designed by Amy Burke Designs for both the ceremony and reception, were truly magnificent and set a luxurious tone to the wedding.

Steven and Melody are a genuinely sweet couple with kind hearts and elegant style. We feel fortunate to been part of this special occasion and we hope you enjoy their handmade highlight film.

We also had a blast working alongside our pal Meg Perotti who has some seriously mad skills when it comes to capturing all those magical moments in her noteworthy timeless style. The Lab Event, where to start? A week ago Saturday we had the awesome privilege of being one of a handpicked selection of the Bay Area’s most trendsetting wedding professionals. The evening was packed full of swoon-worthy wedding inspiration. Thank you to the dynamic team of Allison, Yasmin, and Erin who came up with this concept and then expertly brought it to life. We had such an amazing time and we can’t wait to share the highlight film we have put together showcasing some of the magic that unfolded. We first met John & Jaynel at the filming of their love story for Wish Upon A Wedding and feel in love with this couple and their outlook on life and the future. We are truly impressed by all the vendors who contributed their services to grant such an amazing gift for this couple. We feel so lucky to have been part of this rewarding and wonderful wedding and to give them our gift of one thoughtfully made wedding film. Congratulations to John and Jaynel!!!

I love California, I love wine country, and I love adorable weddings. On July 3rd this summer we had the awesome opportunity to film a wedding with all these wonderful ingredients. So many handmade details went into making this wedding totally unique and fun. This is by no accident as this bride is no stranger to making original and great designs for her own clients. Stacy is the owner of Hello Cupcake, a San Francisco based company specializing in custom stationery and wedding invitations. {As we were editing their wedding highlight, I thought it would be fun to incorporate the same circle design that appeared on the printed materials throughout their wedding. You will notice this in the intro and ending of the film.}

The team from A Savvy Event did an awesome job materializing Christoph + Stacy’s vision and executing a flawless event. So many vendors brought their A game to this event contributing to the overall feel and success of the wedding ensuring all of the guests enjoyed themselves. A bit about the venue too, Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma, California is a great place for a wedding. There are so many interesting backdrops for pictures and quirky, whimsical details around the property to keep you exploring.

We hope you enjoy their handmade wedding highlight film and we hope it is equally interesting and quirky just like this fun wedding.

John & Jaynel…A Love Story

I remember the day vividly when I stumbled across a film produced by my friends and colleagues at I Do Films in Chicago, a film that inspired me to the core. It was the heart wrenching story of Beth, diagnosed with cancer, and Nick, her loving and supportive fiancé, and their wish to get married despite her illness. As I watched the film I burst into tears and realized what an amazing organization Wish Upon A Wedding was and knew that I wanted to be part of it somehow. I immediately applied to be a wish granter and waited patiently for the opportunity to be part of the magic.

Fast forward a year later and we are so privileged to have been chosen as a wish granter for a wonderful and deserving couple, John & Jaynel Gilmore. You can read their full story at Wish Upon a Wedding. John & Jaynel are two talented writers who met and fell in love over their shared passions in life. They have overcome obstacles through love and devotion and choose happiness for their future. This is just the beginning!

“Love & Surf” inspired faux wedding {Featured | Snippet & Ink}

We couldn’t be more thrilled to share this “Love & Surf” inspired wedding shoot that has been in the works for some time. While it may be chilly in most parts of the Northern Hemisphere right now, this California beach & surf inspired wedding is sure to warm you up. With so many newly engaged couples this time of year searching for inspiration for their summer weddings, this might just fit the bill for the surfer girls at heart.

This LoveSpun girl happens to be a beach bum, a California girl through and through, so when I got the invitation to work with this amazing and talented group of vendors on a retro surf wedding, I jumped at the opportunity! Together with Tinywater Photography, Amber from Platinum Planning, Audrey from Botanica Floral Design, Tina from The Cookie Drop, Rona Basa from Luxe Image, and graphic artist, Alice Koswara we took our concept from a Snippet & Ink inspiration board and put our own twist on it. The result: A sun & fun filled wedding, complete with an outdoor movie theater to finish off a wedding with a little Endless Summer…A California girl’s dream!

Destination Wine Country Wedding {Harvest Inn} St. Helena | Part 1

This past weekend we kicked off the 2011 wedding season by spending the weekend in the Napa Valley filming Billy & Lauren’s destination wine country wedding. Billy & Lauren are from Austin, Texas, as well as the majority of their 80 or so guests who all traveled to this romantic & picturesque location to witness the adorable couple as they tied the knot.

We were lucky enough to work with another great set of vendors on this wedding which always makes for a beautiful outcome: A Savvy Event, Indigo Photography, Wine Valley Catering, FleurEssence, & DJ Dukes. The Holy Family Mission in Rutherford is where the ceremony took place followed by a reception at The Harvest Inn in St. Helena.

We are still pouring over the gorgeous footage from last weekend but Brandi Schlagel, owner of Indigo Photography, just sent us over these images to share. So stunning! Often people think of the Napa Valley being the most beautiful at harvest time, but even in winter, when the lush vines are gone, vibrant yellow mustard creeps in among the vineyards creating an enchanting mood. Here are a few of my favorite images from the wedding. San Francisco Ferry Building Wedding {Featured | Style Me Pretty}

We are so fortunate to have filmed some of the loveliest weddings in 2010, in turn creating some of the loveliest wedding films of our career. Wonderful couples, beautiful venues, and amazing vendors have made 2010 one for the record books. If you had the chance to meet me, it is probably very apparent that I LOVE what I do. I can’t speak for my whole team, but I personally cry at almost every wedding, I still gush over beautiful shoes and dresses, and i never tire of participating in one of the most authentic events in life, two people committing to spend the rest of their lives together.

For me, making my clients happy and giving them an artistic representation of this most sacred event is the most important task I have. My reward is seeing people react to what we have created for them and knowing that we were able to preserve something so meaningful. With that I am content and so when other vendors, colleagues, and industry leaders are also impressed by our work, I am humbled. In 2010 our work has been recognized multiple times by wedding planning blogs and we could not be more honored. A huge thank you to Style Me Pretty, who has featured 2 of our films from 2010, the latest of which is Ben & Amy’s SF Ferry Building wedding! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Scott Andrew is an incredibly talented photographer and it was such a great experience working alongside him for the day. I love working with people who are as passionate about their craft as we are about ours. Below are just a few shots of his but I would recommend checking out the full gallery over on SMP.

Danny & Shaudi Pestal had the most gorgeous wedding back on August 28, 2010. Nestled in the coastal redwoods of Northern California at a private estate, this wedding was so stylish and charming. Style Me Pretty also fell in love with their wedding and featured tons of the amazing stills from Seattle based photographer, Sean Flanigan and the couple’s handmade highlights film from yours truly on their blog today.
